This Matchstick Box is a great an example of American folk art, hand made with simple materials, this piece has exquisite details and an interesting design. The the body of the piece is made from painted crate wood evidenced by the commercially printed lettering visible in the interior. The piece has a name on the bottom by " C.T. Holley" with an address in New York, which could be the name of the maker, or the customer it was made for.

7.25" H X 5.5" W X 5.5" D

Materials and Techniques: Red Painted Crate Wood, Matchsticks, Other Scrap Wood. 

Condition: Very good condition with minor signs of age and wear such as rubbing, surface oxidization, etc.
