Pair of Hand Carved Folk Art Dolls

This Dutch couple were hand carved by Martin Neishem in 1932 with original hand made clothes. There is a note attached to the tag that Mr. Neishem was deaf and mute. Each doll has special details inclluding a pocket watch chain on the man and individually carved hair on the woman. The dolls are totally original, the man has a little hole at he corner of his mouth where a pipe must have gone. The last photo is of the artist.

Woman: 9" H X 5.5" W X 6" D

Man: 9.75" H X 4.5 W 2.5" D 

Materials and Techniques: Hand Carved Wood, paint and fabric. 

Condition: Dolls May have minor, rubbing and surface oxidization. and the clothing has signs of age including fading and discoloration.
