This beautiful English piece is believed to come from a large country manor kitchen, with signs of wear denoting a long history as a solid household utilitarian piece. The materials and techniques used in this piece are indicative of the period, being made of large old forest boards, with nicely molded details and dovetail construction. The gallery along the sides and back of the piece are 4.5" high. The buffet or sideboard is raised on six square feet, has four drawers and four doors containing two shelves. The doors are on brass hinges with brass knobs and door catches. The drawers have large turned wooden knobs.
