Pair of Repousse Lamps

2,800.00 3,400.00

This pair of table lamps were created by "Cuivres d'art Albert Gilles inc.", now located at Chateau-Richer, Quebec, Canada and produced in the circa 1940 period. Albert Gilles, the founder of the company, who has since passed on, was an artisan devoted to his craft. These lamps were limited in production at the time and remain excellent examples of the quality and design of artistic objects produced. The copper panels have an overall design with loving birds at rest in the foreground and more of the species in winged flight over land and a ship upon a body of water. The design is reminiscent of the period of production and bear the signature of Albert Gilles in the lower right area of each panel.
