Antique George III Shield Back Arm Chair

This is a nice late George III, circa 1800, arm chair having a shield-shaped back, pierced vase-shaped splat, open arms, padded seat and standing on square tapering legs with stretchers. The leather seat is old and perishing, and in need of love and attention or replacing. 

England, circa 1810

37" H X 24" W X 19" D Seat H: 18"

Materials and Techniques:  Mahogany. Arched back rail. Brass studs. Pegged joints. Tacks and other upholstery elements. 

Condition: Good. May have very minor: shrinkage, cracking, surface oxidization, rubbing, as is normal with an item of this age. Leather is worn out and needs love and attention or replacing.
