Chinese Arm Chair with Carved Foo Dogs, Fish and Flora

This magnificent carved Arm Chair is from the period of Chinese Exports to Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The heavy carved back has two Dogs of Foo and a lovely large chrysanthemum. Note the details of the Dogs of Foo with inset eyes in bone. The arms of the chair contain carved floral bouquets with intricate pierced elements. The seat has delicately carved Iris and other flora and fauna emerging from a body of water. The pierced skirting shows a carp breaking the water.

Materials and Techniques: Carved and Pierced Wood with inset bone. 

Condition: Very god condition. Usual signs indicating age and wear normal for an older item which may include minor; marking, rubbing, cracking, shrinkage, old repairs and surface oxidization.
