Victorian Bamboo bench with Lacquered Panels

This incredibly unique little English Victorian tiger bamboo piece of furniture is one of our favorite new finds. The piece has a drop in seat and hand painted lacquered panels that open to store whatever items suit your needs. We believe the side compartments were originally used to store sheet music. The seat has recently been re-upholstered.

England, Late 19th Century

22.5" H X 28.75" W X 17.25" D

Materials and Techniques: Tiger Bamboo, Hand Painted lacquer wood panels. Newly upholstered seat. 

Condition: Good with usual signs of wear for an antique item including: surface oxidization, crazing, rubbing and shrinkage.
