This gorgeous hand painted box has an incredible amount of different flowers and creatures rendered in multiple colors. There are roses, passion flower vines, birds of prey and butterflies interlaced on the top and sides of the box. The box has been lined with Japanese printed paper with a complimentary bird motif print on a red background.

Condition: May have minor shrinkage, cracking, surface oxidization and rubbing as is normally found in an original work from this period.
