These two English Majolica Jugs are great examples of the Victorian style of Majolica pottery in two variations. The larger piece has a portrait surrounded by sinuous leaves and scrolls with banded gold and brown glazed bands at the top and bottom and a deep rose interior. The smaller jug has a rounded form with articulated leaf elements, textured floral and fauna background in brown dip glaze and a playful glazed pink floral element.
