Brittany Grandfather Clock
Brittany Grandfather Clock
This 19th century grandfather clock is from the Brittany area of France and has stood the test of time very well. Standing about 8ft. tall the clock features a key wound eight day movement driven by two iron weights. The clock strikes the hour and half hour on a bell. The large brass and metal pendulum compensates for temperature variations and helps the clock to be a more accuarte time keeper. The case is carved on its sides and front along with a 7" top piece which is removeable. In front and at the bottom there is a carved panel with a man and woman in a country scene.
